ECG Announces Walter West as New President & CEO
ATLANTA – November 29, 2022 – The ECG Board of Directors held a Special Called Board Meeting to announce Walter West as the new President and Chief Executive Officer. The Board voted unanimously in favor of West as the best candidate for the esteemed position after interviewing other applicants and seeing his tenacity as Interim President and CEO following the retirement of John Giles.
Jay Bartlett, Chairman of the Board of Directors, formally announced Walter at the well-attended meeting and allowed the President and CEO to make his first comments after accepting the position. Walter thanked the Board for choosing him to lead ECG into the next chapter and concluded his remarks with, “We are a fantastic company of dedicated employees who work daily to bring value to our members. I’m looking forward to leading the organization to be the best we can be and excited to get started in this official capacity.”
Walter brings 39 years of industry experience to Public Power in areas of strategic relationships, product development, and operational efficiencies. Walter participated in the effort to create the ECG that exists today. Since the development of ECG as a not-for-profit service organization, Walter has provided leadership to develop several new services and business opportunities that have made ECG a healthier organization with significant opportunities for ECG Member revenue and benefit.
