Edge Development
Edge Development (Edge) is a uniquely designed strategic planning process created exclusively for board members, senior staff, and elected official representatives of Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG), MEAG Power, and the Municipal Gas Authority (Gas Authority) member communities. The Edge objective is to stimulate purposeful development through insightful training, education, and strategic planning. Edge’s prerequisite to the strategic planning process involves a series of educational modules focused on 21st-century economic and community development best practices and return on local investment principles.
The Edge program utilizes new and innovative approaches that align your leadership’s position of influence with 21st-century development drivers, thereby optimizing internal collaboration between public agencies and community stakeholders. Edge challenges your leadership to raise internal expectations.
Through the educational series, Edge utilizes a scientific approach that identifies the dynamics that drive economic growth within your community. Edge’s strategic planning process then utilizes a project-based approach that results in action with established criteria that reflects the priorities that are most important to address your community’s unique opportunities and challenges and result in the greatest impact to economic growth. The resulting implementation strategy is about a “Plan of Action.”
The Edge method fosters an internal and external team environment that identifies existing intellectual capital, physical resources, and monetary impact necessary to accomplish the action.
