City of Cairo

Term Expires: 2019

I was born in Grady County and I am the Energy Services Director for the City of Cairo. I oversee the Electric Superintendent, the Natural Gas Superintendent, and the Support Services Superintendent. Most of my time is spent in the office but occasionally this old lineman has to get outside. In my spare time I “attempt” to play golf but there was a time when I actually played. What I do now you really can't call golf so I leave that up to my favorite player; Fred Couples while I fish. I fish freshwater as well as offshore salt water and I have been very fortunate to already go on my dream vacation – Alaska Fishing. I have buddies with big boats which hasn’t hurt with being able to do what I love to do and it’s helped me realize I am much better at fishing than golfing. When I’m not attempting to golf or fish, you would probably be surprised to know I’m smooth on the dance floor! Yes that’s right, I have some smooth moves on the dance floor. It’s very rare I get a chance to show them off since my favorite song is “Amazing Grace” by the Gaither Vocal Band which obviously is not a dancing song.
If ever given the chance to make a change in the world, I would put God back in the homes and schools! Allow parents to be parents and teachers to be teachers! Instill patriotism in everyone living in our great country! Respect our flag! Respect our leaders! Respect our military! Allow a difference of opinion in any setting where a mutual compromise can be an end result. Lastly, if one does not love our country and its principals, then they need to find another country!
